Evaluation of South West London Learning Gateway

Client: AZTEC (Training & Enterprise Council for the London Boroughs of Kingston, Merton and Wandsworth)

The Learning Gateway aimed to assist 16 and 17 year olds who were unable or unwilling to participate in education, training or employment, without additional support. The approach was to provide tailor-made support to help individuals overcome personal and social obstacles so that they were able to get back into and remain in learning beyond the age of 16. Papworth Research & Consultancy undertook an evaluation of the Learning Gateway based on in-depth, semi-structured consultations with individuals involved in managing and delivering the initiative, a review of relevant documentation and analysis of questionnaires completed by Learning Gateway trainees.
