Learner's Voice Research: Residents of Areas of Deprivation
- Date: February 2003 - March 2003
- Client: Surrey Lifelong Learning Partnership
Though Surrey is an economically prosperous County, the headline figures hide pockets of deprivation which are too localised to register on official statistics.
This project contributed to the development of an approach to accessing the perceptions regarding learning & training of the residents of such deprived areas. It involved identifying pockets of deprivation by drawing on the in-depth knowledge of the ten Community Learning Partnerships (CLPs) across Surrey. In consultation with the CLPs, Papworth Research & Consultancy developed a costed proposal to pilot an approach to identifying and addressing the learning & training issues of people living in pockets of deprivation within Surrey.
